Today's Tidbits.. coupon edition

Ok, so after going thru the coupons today and clipping what I will use, here are a few highlights:
Fred Meyer in ad coupon for 10 for $10 1/2 gallon's of milk. That equals $2 for a whole gallon. Winco's price is $2.48 for the 1% save $.48 a gallon at Freddy's.

Nestle Skinny Cow Candy is $2.99 each with in ad coupon at Fred Meyer- limit 4.
Use the coupons found in today's paper (Red Plum if I remember correctly) There is a $1.50 off two, and a Buy two get one free. So you can actually use both manufactures coupon with the in ad one here.
Here's the senario:
Pick up 4 boxes, $11.96, use the $1.50 off two boxes, = $10.46 and then use the buy 2, get one coupon to get another box. This will be 5 boxes for $10.46 or $2.09 a box.

There is also a BOGO coupon for Speed Stick or Lady's Speed Stick.
Happy Couponing!

Works for me Wednesday- Bread Crumbs!

In my house, the heels (ends of the loaf) of bread loaves don't get eaten. I hate to throw them away, so I save them!
Yup, and when I have enough, (about 10-14) I toast them and then run them thru my blender... and presto! I have bread crumbs! I put them in a plastic container and store in freezer. So easy to grab a bit when needed! And that's what works for me!

Your gonna search for things on the internet, you might as well use Swagbucks! (And thanks for using my referral link!)

Works for me!- going digital

I like to keep a little notebook in my purse to jot down reminders, gifts to buy, sizes of clothes my family wears etc.
I have been doing this for quite awhile now and it works great.
When I was back East visiting my sister I was looking at her smartphone, and I noticed how she did the same thing- only with her smartphone! She utilizes the “notes” section in her phone for all of her “lists.”
I looked at my phone, and I have the same feature, I have slowly been transferring all my “lists” from my book to my phone. There are several things I really like about doing my notes this way: I can jot down a web address and access it from my phone, EVERYTHING is in one spot and easy to use, I can text my notes or email them also. It is one less thing in my purse, and the storage capabilities are better with my phone!
Looks like the world.. or at least me is going a bit more digital!
And that’s what works for me!

Super Savings Saturday

Time to get back into the swing of things. I went grocery shopping today for the first time since getting back from vacation.

I did all my shopping at Fred Meyer today. I don’t normally do that. I usually just pick up the loss leaders at Freddie’s and the bulk of my shopping at Winco. Today, due to time constraints with work, I only had time for 1 store. I chose to go to Freddie’s for a couple of reasons. 1) Some of the vitamins I need I can only get there, 2) I had a Double Rewards Coupon. What that is, is a coupon for however many reward points I earned they would double it. (Cash back in my pocket next quarter)
So some of the great deals I got were:
(no pictures today, I had to hurry and put everything away so I could get to work.)
Hillshire Kielbasa Sausage. 2/$5. I had a $2/$2 purchase in Fred Meyer Meat department. And a $1.50 off store coupon. My total was $1.50 or $.75 each.

I also found gallons of milk marked down to $1.49. I grabbed all 4! ( Usually milk is $2.49). The use by date is 4/28/12, and I know my family will use it up before then.

Angel Soft TP was on sale for $1 each for the 4 roll packages, I got 4.

I needed a little notebook and I found a cute hardback one for only $2.99 with a 40% off coupon!

Carefree liners were marked at $.99, I had $1 off coupons, so a couple of free items!
I spent a little more than I wanted to, but time is money also, and sometimes when time gets short, you  have to spend a bit more.. (And my hubby didn't shop much while I was on vacation.. so monthly budget is still intact!)

Sunday Paper Preview

Since this is a holiday weekend (Easter), there won’t be any coupon inserts in this weekend’s newspaper according to Sunday Coupon Preview. However, there probably will be some good store circulars and store coupons. I usually put a vacation hold on my home delivery so I don’t have to pay for a paper without coupons.
Have a great weekend!

Works for me Wednesday

Quick bathroom tip:

Got a lot of bath toys for the kiddos? You need a place to store them all in between baths. First, pick an  organizer that is large enough for all the toys (and then some) and one that can survive being waterlogged. You can use a plastic bucket or bin, but needs to have holes in it so toys can drain after play.  Keep it in your bathroom cupboard on a mat. Out of site keeps the bath looking neater.  Or, if you don't mind having the toys around at all times, keep them in a mesh shower-toy bag with suction-cup mounts.
